Bill was a student at the original Bauhaus in the late 1920's after completing an apprenticeship in silversmithing. He became one of the most versatile and influential artist/designers of the era. He advanced Modernism in several different disciples from both realized and theoretical projects in architecture, graphic design, fine art and product design. 

Bill was also an accomplished lecturer and scholar and wrote significant texts on assorted leaders of European Modernism including Kandinsky, Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier to mention a few. 

Max Bill has several impressive public sculptures in Switzerland and other European cities, however most collectors look for his works of brightly colored geometric compositions. This untitled screenprint is a dynamic and optimistic paradigm of his oeuvre.
